Appliance Error Code Checker

Samsung Dishwasher error code LC

LC

Also shown as: LE

What it means

Leakage error - the dishwasher's leak sensor detects moisture. When this code occurs, the dishwasher will turn itself on and will not turn off while it attempts to drain the water away.

Likely causes

Safety first: switch the appliance off and unplug it (or turn it off at the circuit breaker) before you check anything. If water is involved, close the water supply valve too. Never open panels or touch internal wiring. Anything that involves gas lines, refrigerant or sealed systems, or mains-voltage wiring is a job for a professional - not a home fix.

Safe first checks

  1. Close the water supply valve to stop water flowing in
  2. Switch the dishwasher off at the circuit breaker
  3. On Waterwall models, also check the water reflector is not blocked

Call a pro for this one

A leak can damage the machine and your floor. Do not keep running the dishwasher - contact a qualified installer or a Samsung service technician for repair.

Repair or replace?

Do not try to fix this one yourself. A service call typically costs $50-$150 for the visit and diagnosis (Angi puts an average service call at $50-$100; Sears lists a $90-$150 diagnostic fee). Ask for the full repair quote before you agree to anything. If the machine is old and the quote is a large part of the price of a new one, replacing usually makes more sense than repairing.
