LG Washer error code LE
LE
Also shown as: LE1
What it means
Rotation / motor error (top-load models) - the motor may be stuck and cannot spin.
Likely causes
- A coin or foreign object is trapped between the wash plate and the drum, interfering with the gear or motor
Safe first checks
- Turn the power off and remove any visible coin or foreign object trapped between the wash plate and the drum - LG suggests using tweezers
When to call a pro
If you see no trapped object but noise occurs and drum rotation is still affected, request service from LG. Motor work is for a technician.
Repair or replace?
Try the safe checks first - many codes clear with a clean filter, a straight hose or a balanced load, and those cost nothing. If the code comes back, a service call typically costs $50-$150 for the visit and diagnosis (Angi puts an average service call at $50-$100; Sears lists a $90-$150 diagnostic fee). Get the full repair quote before you decide. If the machine is old and the quote is a large part of the price of a new one, replacing usually makes more sense than repairing.
